spring!
Lisa | April 27, 2009After a fun and rejuvenating trip to see our friends Keith and Becky get married, we are back and gearing up for the last couple months of school. Compared to the busyness of the winter, my schedule seem much more relaxed. One of the big reasons it feels that way is that my schedule at work has been tweeked, which gives me more time to spend with people, as well as allowing me to participate in the bi-weekly Bible study that Jonny leads in our apartment.

Although things are more relaxed for me, things seem just as busy for Jonny as they did before. After completing the Prague Half-Marathon, there are several things that he is planning and preparing for. The first big event is the retreat that the Christian BMA students are planning for their peers this weekend. They have asked Jonny to be at the retreat center as a chaperon as well as to introduce students to what they’ll be talking about… Jesus! The couple of days will be filled with games, worship, a variety of workshops (including a photography workshop that Jonny will be leading), and student fellowship. We have been praying for this event ever since one of the students got the idea this past fall, and we are expecting good things to happen.
Another event that is keeping Jonny busy is planning the annual school trip along side one other teacher. The school trip is a great opportunity for the second and third year students to build relationships with their friends and teachers. This year they are planning to go rafting and camping. It should be a fun time for everyone.
As the fourth year students are preparing for their big final exam and graduation, BMA is about to accept a whole new group of students to join the BMA family in the fall. There were 42 applicants this year and, with a new application system in place, about 30 students will be accepted to fill 25 places. We are looking forward to meeting the new class, but sad to say goodbye to the fourth year students.
We are also looking forward to seeing friends and family this summer! We are planning a trip to Albany and Chicago during July and August, and we are so excited. It will be the first time we will be back in the states for over a year! If you’re in the Albany area and want to chat and hang out with us, we are planning an evening at the Lobels’ house for Friday, July 10th. Mark your calenders! We hope to see you there!
